Bangkok Housing Estate Lift Station Retrofit
A 1,200-unit estate ended monthly rag-pulling callouts by moving to AF-S vortex pumps with guide-rail couplings; the station now self-manages through the monsoon season.
Project Background
The estate's twin-pit lift station fed a gravity main that surcharges in the rainy season. The installed channel-impeller pumps clogged weekly on kitchen rags and wet wipes.

The Requirement
Peak wet-weather flow of 96 cubic metres per hour at 18 metres, solids handling of at least 50 millimetres, and installation without breaking the pit concrete.
The maintenance team wanted pumps they could lift and inspect without entering the pit.
Pumps And Configuration Supplied
Two AF-S-080 vortex pumps on guide-rail auto-coupling, alternating duty under a compact control cabinet with a float-free level sensor that ignores grease.
The discharge elbow matched the existing DN100 flange, so the retrofit used the original pipework.
Pumps
2 x AF-S-080 vortex, 96 m3/h at 18 m, 5.5 kW, 50 mm solids
Coupling System
Guide rail with DN100 auto-coupling elbow, stainless chain and davit bracket
Controls
Alternator cabinet with grease-immune radar level sensor and GSM alarm card

Result After Commissioning
Rag-pulling callouts dropped from four a month to zero in the first monsoon season.
Alternating duty spreads wear evenly between the two units, and the estate manager now lifts each pump for a ten-minute check twice a year.
